Don’t just take our word for it

Here’s what some of our clients, partners, vendors and colleagues say about Lombardi

I strongly recommend Lombardi Development Co. Their experience, leadership, professionalism, and teamwork made our project a success.

In 2018, we gave Lombardi a challenging task of building a 25,000 square foot class A office building on a raw undeveloped piece of land void of the utilities most builders would expect to see. We faced additional hurdles with weather, as our construction coincided with some of the wettest months on record. All that being said, Lombardi’s progress on the building did not lag at all, and the project was move in ready in less than 12 months.

To speak to quality, Lombardi’s attention to detail was exceptional. During the construction process, Lombardi ensured we would have a finished project that was functional and looked great. The final months of the project really showed the pain staking efforts that Lombardi put in, as everything came together perfectly. I have heard numerous reports that the tenant and their employees are extremely pleased with the quality of the building and its fit and finish.

Finally, as the owner of project, budget was a major concern, Lombardi did not fail to impress in this department. They took responsibility and completed the project within the budget I expected.

Overall, Lombardi was a great team to work with, and I look forward to working with them on other projects.

The purpose of this letter is in recommending the Lombardi Development Company. In 2018 our company had the opportunity oworking with this firm on the construction of our newest 3,300 square foot location in Bridgeport, WV. I can recommend Lombardi highly and without reservation.

Throughout the course of the project their team was professional, accurate in the initial assessment of the scale, cost, and timing of our project. The attention to the specifics of the construction as well as proper scheduling was very remarkable, throughout bad weather and other unforeseen issues, resulting to a job well done, on budget, and on time. In addition, the crew managed the site well and kept an extremely clean workplace.

Again, I would recommend Lombardi Development Company highly and without reservation.

Thank you,

Cindy Tehrani

AVP - Facility Projects & Events, Clear Mountain Bank

“It is my pleasure to take this opportunity to thank you for the great work accomplished by Lombardi during Valley Health Care’s recent 8,000 square foot construction project.

There were many unforeseen problems that were out of the control of both Lombardi and Valley, including utilities, City, and DOH issues, however; Steve Julifs and his team were an invaluable asset in coordinating and working to a successful solution.

Everyone on the project was extremely professional and hard-working. The work site was always kept meticulously clean and safe. Your commitment to quality and the extraordinary efforts in ensuring the ultimate success of the project was wonderful. I wouldn’t hesitate, and it would be my pleasure to recommend Lombardi.”

Sandra J. Elza

CEO, Valley Health Care

“I definitely recommend Lombardi. I’ve been working with them for five years. They have always done a great job and can perform on a wide range of projects.

Paul Lombardi stayed involved during the entire project and made sure we were happy. The work performed is always of high quality.

Lombardi is loyal and has very persistent workers who keep to a tight schedule. The workers do a top job and the scheduling coordination is organized and always open. They have great turnaround times, are extremely responsive and always terrific to work with.

The bottom line: Lombardi’s main goal is to see that the project is successful and that the owner is happy in the end.”

Stephanie Slaubaugh

Construction Manager, Fairmont State University

“Lombardi Development Company has been the successful bidder on three of Alpha Associates, Inc. projects for the Morgantown Municipal Airport, Hart Field Terminal Renovations.

Lombardi Development and especially Josh Moran, Terry Taft and Jerry Jones; Project Mangers, diligently supervised the projects so as to minimize the impact upon the ongoing Airport operations and their tenants. Minimal disruption to the existing clients was experienced. This professional staff knows how important it is to plan for utility shut downs, construction interruptions and adjust time tables on a moment’s notice, so as not to inconvenience the client.

The firm, headed by Paul Lombardi, has always been responsive to the client’s and architect’s needs and responds to every query, promptly. The office staff the Lombardi employs understands the importance of any request that is made during the construction period, and is capable and professional in handling the ‘’paper work’’ side of the project.

I have always been excited to find out that Lombardi would be the successful bidder on a project that I have designed, as I know it will be professional and faithfully executed to the design documents, resulting in a great project.”

Rebecca Jean Key

AIA, Alpha Associates, Inc.

“I’m happy to recommend Lombardi Development. They provide quality work, pay attention to detail and finish the job on time. Their main goal is to make sure the owner is happy when the work is completed.

Our architectural firm has done the design work for five Lombardi construction projects. Two were major school renovations, two were civic and institutional renovation projects and one was a new-build school project. All the projects were publicly funded, which made the bids very competitive.

Lombardi works with architects and owners to develop reasonably priced solutions to changes that arise during renovation projects. They consistently look out for the customer’s best interest.

They are effective project managers and have a well developed line of communication between architects, owners, themselves and subcontractors. They ask the right questions so that the finished product satisfies everyone. I hope that they continue to bid our projects because we always are happy to work with Lombardi.”

Kenton Blackwood

“I’m always happy to work with Lombardi because I have a good sense that the project will go extremely well. I’ve worked with Lombardi on several projects over the past eight years. They’ve performed well and met al l expectations on every project, big and small.

Lombardi is very good at not issuing change orders or billing additional fees after the job is already secured. Sometimes there are surprises, but Lombardi will not penalize their clients in order to save money or ” pass the buck.”

I appreciate the high level of respect they give to their clients. They give an honest assessment of the progress that is being made so that the customer always knows how the process is going and feels valued.

Integrity and honesty are two words I use to describe Lombardi. The company is truly what they represent themselves to be.”

John Sommers

Construction Manager, West Virginia University

“I highly recommend Lombardi. They are honest, trustworthy and will give you a fair price.

I have been working with Lombardi since 2004, when they built a new facility for us. The company did an excellent job overseeing constructon and was extremely helpful.

Lombardi makes sure that every job is done correctly, and they don’t step away from a project once the work is done and they have your money. Even if there is an issue down the road, they will come back and address that issue to ensure you receive the job you wanted.

Paul Lombardi is a real stand-up guy, very professional and extremely honest. He started here in West Virginia and still does a lot of work within the state. There is real dedication to the community.”

“Lombardi Development Company was awarded the Renner Visitors’ Center at Bethany College after receiving bids from several firms.

Upon being awarded the contract, Lombardi Development worked cooperatively with Bethany College and the College’s architects, MacLachlan, Cornelius and Filoni. The project was value engineered by all parties and dollars were saved for the College.

Throughout the project Paul Lombardi was willing to see that the Center was enhanced to the best of his company’s ability.

I would recommend with enthusiasm the Lombardi Development Company for similar building projects.”

Joseph M. Kurey

VP for Finance and Treasurer, Bethany College

“Our firm specializes in mechanical contracting and we have worked as subcontractors on many different projects with Lombardi Development over the past 10 years. If you’re considering hiring Lombardi, I would recommend giving them the job.

Lombardi is exceptional to work with. They’re honest, good natured, fair and have the interest of the owners’ project at heart. The quality of the work they do is first class. All jobs are treated with care and add that “personal” touch. They plan their projects well and do not cut corners. Plus, Lombardi has great pricing.

They do an excellent job in a time frame that is both efficient and acceptable. Lombardi lets you know what is happening with the schedule and is honest with the progress that is happening.

All in all, Lombardi has a very good understanding of what is expected on a project. They are great to work with and very flexible. And, they pay on time for projects that are completed.”

Scott Winters

CEO, H.E. Neumann

“Paul Lombardi of Lombardi Development was the low bidder among eight invited firms for the Bethany College Campbell Mansion Visitors Center designed by our firm.

Based upon our day to day interaction with him, and his firm, we believe Lombardi Development is one of the most client serving construction firms we have worked with during the last 20 years. When the Visitor’s Center was bid, it was over the expected budget. Lombardi Development was willing to work with Bethany College and MCF to competitively value engineer the project for considerable savings with little sacrifice.

When the carpet was selected exceeded allowances specified, Lombardi Development helped to see that the preferred carpet was installed at no additional cost to the Owner.

Throughout this project, Lombardi Development was willing to do more to enhance the project than what is common with the best in the industry.

MacLachlan, Cornelius, & Filoni, Inc. highly recommends the Lombardi Development Company and would be glad to work with this firm again.”

Kenneth K. Lee

Vice President, MacLachlan, Cornelius & Filoni, Inc.

“Over the past several years, Fairmont State University has formed a lasting partnership with Lombardi Development. We have grown to rely on your professional workmanship & strong foundation, to build high quality projects.

One such project was the construction of The Frank & Jane Gabor WV Folklife Center- Phase II. The project consisted of restoring a historical structure; formerly known as the Colonial Apartments & The Kennedy Barn; and repurposing it to suite the Universities growing needs. The company’s strategy for tackling many of the uncertainties that presented themselves on the job was an invaluable asset. The folklore department is pleased with the quality of workmanship & eye for detail. I could not be more pleased with our overall success as a team. In addition, the crew took personal pride in completing the job with very little disruption to our daily operations on campus.

Lombardi has always shown great respect to Fairmont State by maintaining a clean, organized, & protected site from the public, which is extremely important. I also would like to mention the high level of integrity exhibited by the company and yourself, specifically the desire to uphold the owner’s interests, objectives, & budget. Lombardi Development is a company founded on, ‘’The honor to build’’, which is apparent in their employees love & passion for their profession.

Because of the great workmanship, reliability, and professionalism of the Lombardi Development staff, we will continue working with you to construct new innovative projects & maintain our current facilities. It is my pleasure to recommend Lombardi Development for any project mission.”

“Lombardi Development Company recently partnered with M.J. Harris, Inc. on construction and finish upgrade at the HealthSouth Mountain View Hospital project in Morgantown, West Virginia. Their scope of work for our company included architectural demo, ceiling rework, framing, hanging and finishing drywall, installation of toilet partitions and toilet accessories, InPro wall protection, frame guards, and installation of vertical blinds and cubicle curtains. The quality of their work was quite satisfactory as were their diligence in schedule and deadline issues.

If occasion arises in which M.J. Harris, Inc. has additional projects in the West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, or Virginia area, we will seek to collaborate with Lombardi Development Company for services. Should you need further information regarding this recommendation, please contact me.”

“On behalf of the Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library, we want to thank you for your work with us on our recent remodeling projects. We were delighted with the quality of the workmanship, the communication, professionalism, timeliness?? and the cooperation and friendliness of your staff.

Terry Taft and Bernie Elliot stand head and shoulders above any other contractors we have ever worked with and we would love to have an opportunity to work with them again at some time in the future.

We would be happy to serve as a reference for you in the future if you should need us to.”

“We had the pleasure of working closely with Paul Lombardi of Lombardi Development Company, Inc. for approximately one year during our collaboration on a large-scale project, The Bethany Peace Point Equestrian Center, in Bethany, West Virginia. Through our experiences, Paul exemplifies one of the most considerate and conscientious contractors our office has had the pleasure of working with.

Paul’s responsibilities as the General Contractor for the project were innumerable, and his coordination and oversight of the subcontractor’s work was exemplary. During construction, Paul was always available and willing to meet with our office, as well as the subcontractor, to work through issues of concern.

Pashek Associates highly recommends Lombardi Development, Inc. in this regard.”

“I wanted to take a few minutes to express my appreciation on the work Lombardi Development has done on the Grand Rapids East project. The professionalism demonstrated by you and your group has been recognized not only by myself, but by other Gambro members particularly operations. Your ability to solve problems and smoothly transition the project from construction to operations is highly appreciated.

I would like to reemphasize my interest in continuing the relationship with Lombardi Development. We have a number of projects coming up in the tri-state area (PA, OH & WV) that I would like Lombardi Development to participate in. As we get these projects to the point where prints can be released, I will contact you for involvement.”

“I have had the great pleasure to work with Lombardi Development Company on a variety of high profile projects within the Mountainlair Student Union, which is located on the campus of West Virginia University.

Josh Moran and the rest of the team were extremely conscientious, careful and very aware of our needs including tight time frames. Their attention to detail, willingness to work around our specific and unique needs and insistence on good workmanship contributed to the success of the projects. The site was left very clean and the staff was always courteous and respectful of the facility tenants and customers.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Lombardi Development Company for other work and would be happy to provide more detailed information regarding my experience working with Josh and the rest of the Lombardi team.”

“Now that the above referenced projects are over, after months of productive work, I want to thank you again for making an arduous undertaking as efficient as possible.

In particular, I appreciate your high standards of quality, your adherence to schedule, and your responsiveness to our objectives and occasional scope of changes. Your level of client awareness was appreciated, greatly easing disruptions during summer school.

I had a positive experience going through a process that is, at best, difficult and your role was crucial in creating this outcome. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you again on future projects.”

Jennifer Morris

Project Manager Sr., WVU Facilities Management

“I have worked with Lombardi for roughly 12 years. They are a great contractor to hire because they are efficient, timely and value the job requested of them. Their organizational skills are outstanding, and they build successful business relationships based on integrity and trust. All the work is guaranteed to be done properly.

Anyone hiring Lombardi can be at ease knowing that all licenses are up-to-date, and that the company pays their suppliers, employees and sub-contractors in a timely manner so that no outstanding expenses are left to the owner of the building. They’re very efficient in billing. I have never had to call and check up on a payment.

Overall, Lombardi is an excellent business that takes on jobs at a responsible rate so that each customer is valued and the odds and ends in any job are handled with care. They are both personable and available to speak with customers and address any concerns in a friendly and helpful manner.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Lombardi Development Corporation. Lombardi Development Corporation was the general contractor on our new $400,000 fire station. The dedication, workmanship and ability to work with our department were second to none.

Paul Lombardi worked with our department for over a year in the planning stages of our new building. His attention to detail and ability to overcome any type of problem, which can and will arise when building a station as big as ours, makes him unique in the contracting business. I highly recommend him for any project, big or small.

If you have any questions about Paul Lombardi or Lombardi Development Corporation, please feel free to contact me at 304-829-7744.”

“This letter is regarding Lombardi Development in Follansbee, WV. Lombardi Development worked with our firm at the Advance Financial Savings Bank located in Steubenville, Ohio and is currently working with our firm on the ORMET Credit Union, Inc. project in Hannibal, Ohio.

“During the past year, Mainline Mechanical, Inc. has engaged in a professional contract agreement with Lombardi II, of Lombardi Development Company. I have had nothing but exceptionally fine dealings with them over the past year. Deadlines were met and payments have been received with more promptness than most general contactors. We have been extremely satisfied with their professionalism.

I would be pleased to work with them on future projects should the opportunity arise.”

Dennis Gwinn

President, Mainline Mechanical, Inc.

“Lombardi received the bid to renovate the kitchen and dining room area (two floors) of one of the oldest facilities on the WVU campus. The kitchen had been built around 1938 and very little had been changed over the years. Some of the major issues were exposed piping in the kitchen area, uninsulated 6” steam pipes under the floor in the dining room, collapsed drains, and a need to make the building handicapped accessible. We also wanted to totally update the dining room and bring the food preparation out in front of the students. The time frame was extremely tight; the building was turned over to construction on May 7th and the substantial completion date was scheduled for August 10th with the first day of service and final completion to be August 17th.

After construction was underway, several major issues impacted the construction schedule. The drains under the kitchen floor in the basement were 3 feet from where the blueprint showed. Unforeseen soil conditions created problems with excavations and retaining walls. A major support beam in the dish-room was found to have significant structural damage due to moisture. Previous alterations above the dining area (and above the area to be renovated) left vertical beams with no fireproofing; a violation to the fire code.

Throughout the construction, Paul kept a positive attitude. He was easy to work with and took the time to answer questions and address concerns. He kept the crew on track, revised schedules and was able to make up lost time from the unforeseen problems. He made every effort to keep costs down without compromising quality. Paul went out of his way to correct problems that were not specifically within the scope of the project; he pushed for the installation of F.R.P. panels on parts of the kitchen where the existing walls were in poor condition. He was proactive in spotting potential problems so that we could take action before they became a major concern.

Finally, at the end of the project, Paul was present for all of the pre-opening inspections and made all of the necessary corrections. He communicated with everyone involved in the project and made sure that we were comfortable before he moved on. The finished product was outstanding and has received rave reviews from our staff and customers.”
